Our Story

Guiding You Toward a Healthier Tomorrow

NACOSS was founded by O’Dell Smoot and Melody Ricks, a mother-and-son duo brought together by both family and purpose. The vision for NACOSS was born out of personal tragedy. In 2018 and again in 2022, O’Dell and Melody each experienced the devastating loss of a close family member, a sister and a father, due to drug overdose.

These profound losses became a turning point. Rather than allowing tragedy to define their story, they chose to take a stand and be part of the solution. O’Dell and Melody committed themselves to creating a place where individuals struggling with substance use could receive meaningful support, structure, and hope.
